The hitbox in Marvel Rivals is controversial

A recent Reddit thread highlighted significant concerns about Marvel Rivals' hit detection. A video showcasing Spider-Man hitting Luna Snow from an improbable distance sparked widespread discussion. Further examples revealed inconsistent hit registration, even when shots visually missed their target. While lag compensation has been suggested as a cause, many believe the core issue stems from flawed hitbox implementation. Professional players have demonstrated a consistent bias in hit registration, favoring shots aimed slightly right of the crosshair. This, coupled with evidence of broken hitboxes across multiple characters, points to a serious problem requiring attention.

Despite this, Marvel Rivals, dubbed the "Overwatch killer," enjoyed a highly successful Steam launch, peaking at over 444,000 concurrent players on its first day. A major criticism, however, centers around optimization issues. Players using graphics cards like the Nvidia GeForce 3050 reported significant frame rate drops. Nevertheless, the game's generally positive reception emphasizes its fun factor and fair monetization. A key feature praised by many is the non-expiring nature of battle passes, eliminating the pressure to constantly grind. This design choice could significantly influence player perception and long-term engagement.
