Prey serves as a prequel and is designed to be watched after the other films, especially Predator 2. However, for a true chronological experience, start here. Set in 1719 on the Great Plains, Prey follows a young Comanche woman, Naru (Amber Midthunder), who gets more than she bargained for when she joins her brother on a hunt and finds herself in the sights of a primitive Predator. The only Predator movie not set on Earth, Predators, directed by Robert Rodriguez, takes a fresh approach by transporting audiences to a distant planet, a Yautja game reserve. With a stellar cast including Adrien Brody, Walton Goggins, Laurence Fishburne, Topher Grace, and Alice Braga, Predators reveals how humans, specifically "established killers," are abducted and used for sport between two warring Yautja tribes.
Timeline-wise, the exact Earth year is unclear, but it's safe to assume it's around 2010, the year of the movie's release, or at least the early 21st century. Thus, Predators can be watched here or saved for last in your chronological viewing.

Despite Predators being a modest hit, it took eight years for another Predator film to hit theaters. With 2018's The Predator, director and co-writer Shane Black (Iron Man 3, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang) returned the franchise to its roots (which he himself starred in) by featuring a squad of unstable soldiers—played by Boyd Holbrook, Trevante Rhodes, Keegan-Michael Key, Thomas Jane, and Alfie Allen from Game of Thrones—who confront a pair of rampaging Predators and thwart their Yautja schemes involving DNA splicing. The film teases more to come, with alternate endings featuring time-traveling versions of Alien's Ellen Ripley and Rebecca "Newt" Jorden.

Two new Predator movies are set to release in 2025. Predator: Badlands, hitting theaters on November 7, 2025, will star Elle Fanning and feature the Predator as the protagonist, according to director Dan Trachtenberg.
