REPO's developers have unveiled exciting plans for the game's future, including a game-changing "duck bucket" designed to neutralize the terrifying duck that plagues players. Read on to discover more about upcoming updates and the insightful feedback from the creator of Lethal Company.
REPO's First Update Details
The Duck Bucket: A Duck-Sized Solution

REPO's inaugural update introduces a new map and the highly anticipated "duck bucket"—a solution to the game's infamous feathered menace. Semiwork Studios showcased these updates in a YouTube video on March 15th.
REPO is a thrilling online co-op horror game for up to six players. Teams must carefully extract valuable items from a terrifying world. Players face the Apex Predator, a seemingly innocent yellow duck that transforms into a horrifying monster when damaged or picked up, attacking players for 10 seconds before reverting to its normal form.
The "duck bucket" will provide a much-needed containment solution for the pesky duck, preventing unwanted transformations and accidental activations by teammates. The update will also include new facial expressions and other quality-of-life improvements.
"The Museum": A New Map for Parkour Enthusiasts and Improved Extraction

Semiwork Studios also announced a new map, "The Museum," designed to challenge players' parkour skills. Extraction points will now feature visible borders, clearly indicating whether loot is within the extraction zone.
The developers are also actively working on implementing public lobbies, a feature heavily requested by the community. They stated, "As an overwhelming majority seems fine with matchmaking where you can either host public or private, together with a kick button, that's what we'll be looking into. Adding a kick button might sound simple, but it involves server coding, a new area for us." This feature, while highly desired, may take longer to implement due to its complexity.
Lethal Company Creator's Feedback on REPO
Since its February release, REPO has drawn comparisons to the popular online co-op horror game Lethal Company, sharing similar mechanics and themes. On March 15th, Lethal Company creator Zeekers offered constructive criticism via Twitter (X), suggesting improvements for future updates.
He tweeted, "REPO is fun. At first I thought I didn't like it since I felt so slow (and voice chat range is too small!) But everyone in the group working together to move a grand piano through a cramped old mansion without scraping it--that is like the most funny objective for a horror game." He further elaborated in the comments, stating, "I'll probably post more thoughts on Patreon, but I think #1. Voice chat range needs increased, and the muffling is too much. #2. The levels with vast open space don't suit the game's design very well (similarly to Phasmophobia); it shines most in the cramped mansion layout."

Zeekers also addressed concerns about enemies silently approaching players, commenting, "Yeah, there also needs to be an in-game way to learn about how enemies work, but I'm sure they're planning that."
R.E.P.O., currently the second best-selling game on Steam (behind Counter-Strike 2), has already achieved remarkable success, boasting over 230,645 concurrent players—close to Lethal Company's all-time peak of 240,817 players. For the latest R.E.P.O. news, check out our related article below!
