This decision stems from Bandai Namco's inability to deliver a consistently satisfying player experience.

Player Compensation and Final Updates

Blue Protocol Global Release Canceled as Japan Servers Close DownBandai Namco's official statement cites the challenge of maintaining a service meeting player expectations as the reason for the shutdown. Disappointment at the inability to proceed with the global release alongside Amazon Games was also expressed.

To compensate players, Bandai Namco will provide 5,000 Rose Orbs monthly (starting September 2024) and 250 daily until the game's closure. Rose Orb purchases and refunds will be unavailable. Furthermore, Season 9's pass is now free, and the final update (Chapter 7) is set for December 18, 2024. The company plans to continue supporting the game with updates and new content until its final day.

However, ongoing server issues and declining player numbers ultimately led to this decision. Bandai Namco's March 31, 2024 financial report indicated the game's underperformance, foreshadowing this outcome. Despite a promising start, Blue Protocol failed to meet the company's financial targets and sustain player engagement.
