Tribe Nine, from the creator of Danganronpa, set to open pre-registration

Jan 09,2025 Author: Emery

Tribe Nine, a new mobile ARPG from Danganronpa creators Rui Komatsuzaki and Kazutaka Kodaka, is now accepting pre-registrations on Android and iOS! Pre-register to receive an exclusive skin and other rewards.

Komatsuzaki's distinctive art style and Kodaka's design expertise, hallmarks of the popular PSP visual novel Danganronpa, are reunited in this exciting new project. Set in a dystopian Neo-Tokyo in 20XX, Tribe Nine casts you as a teenager competing in the perilous Extreme Games orchestrated by the enigmatic Zero.

Pre-registration rewards include a Parallel Cypher / Y skin for Koishi Kohinata. The game blends thrilling action with a retro aesthetic, featuring retro-style sprite exploration of the overworld transitioning into full 3D battles. Players can experiment with equipment and utilize "Tension Cards" to create unique character builds.

While Danganronpa may be considered less novel today, its original blend of art and murder-mystery gameplay made it a standout PSP title. Whether Tribe Nine achieves similar success remains to be seen. Although its visuals are striking, the 3D turn-based battle genre is saturated. Tribe Nine will need a unique element to truly distinguish itself.
