Ticket to Ride: Switzerland Expansion Brings New Routes and Challenges!

The popular digital board game, Ticket to Ride, is expanding its reach with the new Switzerland expansion. This exciting addition opens up a route to Switzerland, introducing both country-to-country and city-to-country connections. Players can now strategically build their railroad empires across Switzerland and its neighboring nations, adding a new layer of complexity to the gameplay.

This holiday season update also includes two new characters and four new route tokens. Developer Marmalade Games aimed to provide a festive gift to Ticket to Ride fans, delivering not only new locations but also fresh mechanics. These country-to-country and city-to-country routes demand a revised strategic approach, forcing players to carefully plan their railroad expansion. The expansion caters to both seasoned players and newcomers, encouraging a dynamic and engaging experience.

Country-to-country tickets challenge players to link specific countries, offering multiple route options with varying point values. For example, connecting France might offer choices to Germany, Italy, or Austria, each rewarding a different point total upon completion. Similarly, city-to-country tickets require connecting a city to a designated country. Each country possesses a limited number of nodes, demanding swift strategic decisions to secure the most advantageous routes.

Points are awarded based on the highest-scoring completed connection for each ticket. Conversely, failure to complete a connection results in a point deduction based on the ticket's lowest value.

The Switzerland Expansion is currently available on Google Play, the App Store, and Steam, with PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox releases coming soon. For the latest Ticket to Ride news and updates, follow Marmalade Games on Facebook and Instagram.
