Nintendo Switch 2 Rumors Surface, Alleged Images Emerge

Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Con Controllers Leaked: A Closer Look

New images circulating online strongly suggest a reveal of the Nintendo Switch 2's Joy-Con controllers is imminent. While the original Switch continues to receive new releases into 2025, speculation surrounding its successor is intensifying, especially given Nintendo's confirmed announcement by the end of their 2024 fiscal year. With a rumored March 2025 launch date, leaks regarding the Switch 2's specs and features are becoming increasingly prevalent.

Recent leaks, fueled by third-party developers and insiders, have provided purportedly accurate images of the console itself. These leaks also hinted at the continued use of Joy-Cons, including their color schemes. A fresh set of images, shared on the r/NintendoSwitch2 subreddit by user SwordfishAgile3472, allegedly originating from a Chinese social media platform, offer the clearest look yet at the Switch 2's Joy-Cons.

These images, subsequently shared widely across social media, appear to confirm the rumored magnetic connection for the Joy-Cons. Instead of the physical rail system of the original Switch, these controllers seem to utilize magnets for attachment and detachment.

Decoding the Joy-Con Leak:

The leaked images showcase the controllers in a primarily black and blue color scheme, reminiscent of the original Switch's Joy-Cons. However, unlike the original blue Joy-Con, the leaked images show the controller body as predominantly black, with blue accents visible only on the side and back. The pictures also offer a glimpse at a revised button layout, featuring noticeably larger "SL" and "SR" buttons, and an additional, unlabeled button on the back.

This third button is theorized to be a release mechanism for the magnetic connection, facilitating easy detachment of the Joy-Cons from the console. The overall design of the leaked Joy-Cons aligns with other circulating leaks and mockups of the Switch 2, further bolstering their credibility. However, definitive confirmation awaits official information from Nintendo.
