The Type-40 sword is the reward for completing the side quest "Find a Present," the culmination of a questline involving Operator 6O. Unlocking this quest requires completing two preceding quests. Here's a step-by-step guide, including chapter selection points:

1. After defeating Adam and Eve in Chapter 5, you'll receive a call from Operator 6O. Immediately complete the "Investigating Communications" quest; it's easily missed.
2. Progress through Chapter 6 (Forest Castle events) and into Chapter 7.
3. After speaking with Pascal about A2, explore the city ruins to trigger another call from Operator 6O, directing you to an access point for the "Terminal Repairs" quest.
4. While returning to the Resistance Camp during Chapter 7, a final call from Operator 6O, mentioning flowers, will lead to a new message in your inbox.
5. Interact with this message to initiate "Find a Present."
6. Upon completing "Find a Present," the Type-40 Sword will be delivered to your inbox.
