Resident Evil's mastermind, Shinji Mikami, recently voiced his strong desire for a Killer7 sequel during a presentation alongside the game's creator, Goichi "Suda51" Suda. This sparked considerable excitement among fans of the cult classic.
Killer7: A Sequel or a Complete Edition?
The Grasshopper Direct presentation, primarily focused on the upcoming Shadows of the Damned remaster, unexpectedly delved into the future of Killer7. Mikami openly expressed his wish for a sequel, calling the original one of his personal favorites. Suda51, equally enthusiastic, hinted at the possibility, playfully suggesting titles like "Killer11" or "Killer7: Beyond."

Killer7, a 2005 action-adventure game blending horror, mystery, and Suda51's signature over-the-top style, has a dedicated fanbase despite lacking a sequel. While a PC remaster launched in 2018, Suda51 proposed a "Complete Edition" to fully realize his original vision, an idea Mikami playfully dismissed. However, the discussion revealed plans for restoring extensive dialogue for the character Coyote, a key component of this potential Complete Edition.
The mere suggestion of a sequel or a complete edition ignited a wave of fan excitement. While nothing is confirmed, the developers' shared enthusiasm has fueled speculation about Killer7's future. The decision of whether a "Killer7: Beyond" sequel or a Complete Edition arrives first remains to be seen.
