GTA 6 Ex-Dev Says Rockstar Games Will Blow People Away
Rockstar Games “Raises The Bar Again” with GTA 6
In an exclusive interview with the YouTube channel GTAVIoclock, former Rockstar Games developer Ben Hinchliffe offered fans a sneak peek into what they can expect from the eagerly awaited next installment in the Grand Theft Auto series, GTA 6. Before leaving the company, Hinchliffe contributed to several iconic Rockstar titles, including GTA 6, GTA 5, Red Dead Redemption 2, and L.A. Noire.
Reflecting on the development of GTA 6, Hinchliffe shared, "I was privy to a lot of new things, content, and story elements," and expressed his enthusiasm about "how that's evolved." He confidently stated that he was impressed by the game's progress "on the other end" since his departure. "Seeing where it was when I left and playing the final version, and how much, if anything, has changed. How much things have evolved," he remarked.
Last year, Rockstar Games unveiled the official trailer for GTA 6, introducing new protagonists, the iconic setting of Vice City, and tantalizing glimpses of its plotline, promising players a thrilling crime-filled adventure. Scheduled for release in the Fall of 2025, GTA 6 will be exclusive to the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. While Rockstar typically keeps details under wraps, Hinchliffe affirmed that GTA 6 not only raises the bar but also marks a significant evolution for Rockstar Games.
"You only have to look at how every game Rockstar has done has evolved in some way," he noted. "You could argue that every element of the game moves forward in terms of feeling more realistic and people acting and behaving more realistically with each iteration. I think [Rockstar Games] has raised the bar again, just like they always do."

Considering Hinchliffe's observations about Rockstar's work around the time he left the company three years ago, it's likely that GTA 6 has undergone significant fine-tuning and performance optimization to ensure a seamless gaming experience. Hinchliffe also suggested that Rockstar is currently focused on addressing bugs and issues that may arise during GTA 6's ongoing development cycle.
Regarding fan reactions upon GTA 6's release, Hinchliffe predicted that the game's realism will astonish players. "It will blow people away. It will sell an absolute ton, as it always does," he confidently stated. He further added, "People have been talking about it for ages after GTA 5, and I’m really excited for people to get their hands on it and play it."
