Pocket Gamer recently discovered Dynabytes' Fantasma at Gamescom Latam—a multiplayer augmented reality (AR) GPS adventure game. This exciting title recently received an update adding Japanese, Korean, Malay, and Portuguese language support, with German, Italian, and Spanish coming soon.
Fantasma tasks players with locating and battling mischievous creatures using portable electromagnetic fields as bait. Combat takes place in AR, requiring players to maneuver their phones to keep the Fantasma in view while tapping the screen to attack. Defeated Fantasmas are then captured in special bottles.
These creatures appear based on the player's real-world location, encouraging exploration. Players can also deploy sensors to expand their search radius and even team up with others for a cooperative experience.
