Disney Mirrorverse, the mobile action RPG featuring a unique blend of Disney and Pixar characters, is shutting down. Developer Kabam announced the game's end-of-service (EOS) date as December 16th, 2024.
The game has already been removed from the Google Play Store, and in-app purchases are disabled. Players have approximately three months remaining to enjoy the game before the servers are permanently closed.
A Short Lived Adventure?
Launched in June 2022, Disney Mirrorverse promised a thrilling action RPG experience. While initially met with enthusiasm from Disney fans, the game's two-year early access period and infrequent content updates ultimately led to declining player engagement.
Why the Sudden Closure?
The game's challenging shard collection system, requiring significant time or monetary investment to fully develop characters, contributed to its struggles. Despite impressive character designs and visuals, the game never reached its full potential.
The recent addition of Cinderella as a playable character and new story content just a week before the EOS announcement took many players by surprise. However, this isn't Kabam's first game closure; they previously shut down Transformers: Forged to Fight and a Marvel Contest of Champions spin-off.
