*Cyberpunk 2077* was initially set to push boundaries with an ambitious DLC that would have taken players beyond Night City and into space—specifically the Moon. Although the idea never made it to release, recent findings by blogger and dataminer SirMZK offer a glimpse into what could have been, revealing intriguing details buried within the game’s code.
Inside the game’s files, evidence of lunar surface maps, distinct zones such as the Exterior Movie Set and Drug Lab, and even a model for a lunar rover were uncovered. The proposed Moon environment was reportedly enormous—estimated at around a quarter of Night City’s size—and designed as an open-world setting. This would have introduced a completely new scope to *Cyberpunk 2077*, expanding its universe far beyond the neon-soaked urban sprawl of Night City.
The Crystal Palace and Zero-Gravity Adventures
One of the most exciting features teased by these discoveries is the Crystal Palace, a high-end space station concept that, while never fully realized in the final game, makes a brief appearance in one of the endings where V gazes out from a spaceship window. Additionally, hidden files suggest the existence of a prototype zero-gravity bar connected to a canceled mission titled *201*, which was linked to the overarching Arasaka storyline.
Hope for the Future: Could These Ideas Return?
Though the Moon DLC was ultimately scrapped, there's hope among fans that elements of this vision may live on in CD Projekt RED’s upcoming project, *Orion*, rumored to be an expansion of the Cyberpunk universe. As of now, however, the studio has not officially confirmed whether any of these cut concepts will resurface in future titles.
While the dream of a lunar expansion remains unrealized, the leaked assets and hidden content continue to fuel excitement and speculation. They offer a tantalizing look at how *Cyberpunk 2077* could have evolved into something even more expansive and daring—a fusion of cyberpunk grit and cosmic exploration.
