The mobile strategy tower defense game, Code Geass: Lost Stories, is ending its global run. While the Japanese version will continue, the global servers will shut down on August 29th, 2024. This means players will no longer be able to access their accounts after that date, and official social media will also close.
Developed by f4samurai and DMM Games, and published by Komoe, the game launched globally in September 2023, falling short of its first anniversary. Downloads were reportedly low, and the game received less-than-stellar global reviews. The developers haven't publicly stated the exact reasons for closure, but the lack of player engagement and less-than-enthusiastic reception outside of Japan are likely contributing factors. Many licensed anime gacha games struggle to maintain a global player base, particularly outside of Japan where player spending tends to be higher.
As of today, in-app purchases and new downloads are disabled. However, Japanese players can still access the game via the Google Play Store. Before you go, be sure to check out our other gaming news!
