The Battle Cats 12th-anniversary ad campaign takes you back to the Sengoku era to \"become the cat\"

The Battle Cats celebrates 12 years of quirky cat-fueled tower defense action! To mark this milestone, developer Ponos has launched a new Sengoku-era ad campaign, blending historical art with the game's signature humor.

Ninja cats, fish cats, and even the aptly named "Gross Cat"—the ever-expanding roster of bizarre feline fighters is a testament to the game's enduring appeal. This unique charm has kept The Battle Cats thriving in the competitive mobile gaming landscape for 12 years.

The new commercials transport players to the Sengoku period, showcasing tactical combat alongside the series' trademark wit and those iconic cat food cans.

Ponos partnered with R/GA for this "Way of the Cat" campaign. The cinematic ads are undeniably engaging, leaving viewers with the irresistible urge to "be the cat, become the cat."

"As we celebrate 12 years of The Battle Cats, we’re thrilled to challenge expectations and highlight the game's strategic depth," states Ponos' COO and Managing Director Seiichiro Sano. "Our collaboration with R/GA honors our legacy while inviting new players to enjoy the tactical gameplay in a fresh way."
