Farlight Games, fresh off their successful 2024 collaboration with Lilith Games on AFK Journey, is launching a new title: Ace Trainer. Currently in soft launch in South Korea and the US, this game blends several popular genres in a unique way.
Ace Trainer features creature collection, training, and leveling, reminiscent of Pokémon. However, instead of traditional turn-based battles, Farlight has incorporated tower defense elements, pitting your creatures against zombie hordes. Adding another layer of complexity, pinball mechanics are used to collect resources.
This eclectic mix of tower defense, pinball, and creature-battling creates a gameplay experience unlike any other. While a worldwide release isn't guaranteed, the multi-regional soft launch suggests Farlight has high hopes for Ace Trainer's success.

A Risky Gamble?
Ace Trainer's diverse gameplay features—PvP, PvE, tower defense, pinball—could be described as "everything but the kitchen sink." While the combination of popular genres might appeal to some players, the sheer number of mechanics raises concerns about long-term engagement and balance. The question remains whether this ambitious approach will pay off.
