Capcom to Crack Down on Monster Hunter Wilds Cheaters Before Title Update 1

May 14,2025 Author: Aurora

Monster Hunter Wilds is set to receive its first Title Update tomorrow, featuring quests that encourage competition for fast clear times. To ensure a fair gaming environment, Capcom has issued a stern warning regarding cheating and the use of external tools to manipulate rankings. The company stated on its X/Twitter account: "To ensure a fun and fair experience for our players, we will take action against accounts participating in fraudulent ranking activity, such as the use of cheating or external tools. Accounts deemed to be in breach of this may be suspended, or have restrictions placed on them, such as being unable to receive rewards from these quests."

Capcom has emphasized that not only will cheaters face penalties, but players participating in multiplayer hunts with cheaters could also see their quest completion times invalidated and lose the "right to rewards." The company advises players to avoid multiplayer sessions with suspected cheaters and to report any fraudulent activity they encounter. This measure is particularly important as the quests will offer cosmetic pendants as rewards, some of which are distributed to all participants, while others depend on completion time or hunter ranking.

These competitive quests will be accessible through the new Arena Quest Counter in the Grand Hub at Suja, which players can unlock by completing a special tutorial mission after Title Update 1 goes live.
