Ubisoft Leaks: Rainbow Six Siege 2 in Development with Enhanced Graphics

According to an insider known as fraxiswinning, Ubisoft is set to unveil Rainbow Six Siege 2 at the Six Invitational 2025, scheduled at the MGM Music Hall from February 14–16. The project, reportedly codenamed Siege X, is said to operate on an enhanced engine featuring upgraded graphics, including revamped textures and models.

Interestingly, Ubisoft may opt out of bringing back the old temporary events from the original game, focusing instead on introducing fresh events. The sequel is anticipated to launch during the second season of the tenth year of support, around mid-2025.

Previously, Alexander Karpazis, the creative director of Rainbow Six Siege, had expressed that a sequel was unnecessary due to the ongoing development of the current game. However, if this leak holds true, it appears Ubisoft might have reconsidered their stance.

It's important to approach such rumors with skepticism. Until Ubisoft officially confirms this, it remains speculative.

The Six Invitational 2025, the Rainbow Six Siege World Championship, is on the horizon. In Boston, twenty teams will vie for a piece of the $3,000,000 prize pool and the championship title. Oxygen Esports, having won the North American Last Chance Qualifier, has secured the last spot in the tournament.

A tournament with twenty teams is unusual. While Ubisoft is likely to follow a similar format to last year—four groups with a round-robin among five teams, followed by Double Elimination playoffs—we could be in for a surprise.

The first-place team in each group gets a bye in the first round, the fourth-place team starts in the lower bracket, the other teams enter the upper bracket of the playoffs, and the last-place team in each group is eliminated.
