Unlocking characters in *BlazBlue Entropy Effect* involves collecting items known as Prototype Analyzers. These are crucial for accessing new characters, except for the DLC characters which are unlocked through purchase. Our comprehensive guide will walk you through acquiring Prototype Analyzers and introduce you to all the playable characters in the game.

Your journey begins after completing the tutorial, where you receive your first Prototype Analyzer. This initial boost sets you on the path to unlocking new characters. From the Acer Program room, take the passage to your right, leading you to a room with a glowing platform. Interact with this platform to access the character selection menu and choose your desired character.
For subsequent character unlocks, return to this room and interact with the platform again using additional Prototype Analyzers. Note that DLC characters, such as Rachel and Hazama (available as of March 2025), are automatically unlocked upon purchasing and installing their respective character packs.

*Entropy Effect* offers several methods to earn more Prototype Analyzers, each requiring patience and dedication.
Advance through the story and complete training missions to unlock gray skills. Reaching certain milestones rewards you with Prototype Analyzers:
Additionally, a key event later in the story automatically grants another Prototype Analyzer. However, unlocking green skills through Potential does not provide these items. Unless developer 91Act introduces more skills or alternative methods, you're limited to obtaining only three Prototype Analyzers from story progression.
Another avenue is through the Mind Challenge mode. Accumulate AP (Action Points) by completing these challenges, then trade them with the janitor. Be prepared though, as each Prototype Analyzer costs a hefty 5,000 AP, making this a less frequent option.
As of March 2025, *BlazBlue Entropy Effect* boasts 12 characters—10 available in the base game and 2 additional via paid DLC. Here's a look at each character and how to unlock them using Prototype Analyzers, excluding the DLC characters.

Ragna is your quintessential melee fighter with a unique twist. He thrives in close combat but gains strength as his HP decreases. His special ability allows him to sacrifice health for buffs, then regain some by draining his opponents.

Jin, another melee specialist, excels in swordplay and ice manipulation. He can freeze enemies and, with well-timed combos, enhance his strength and confuse foes with increased speed.

Noel stands out as a ranged combat expert, capable of launching missiles in any direction. Her special ability shortens skill cooldowns, and with Over-Exhaust, she can continue casting even when her MP is depleted.

Though Taokaka may struggle against heavily armored foes, her versatility in build options compensates for this. Her Spinny Spinny attack inflicts multiple hits and can stack status effects, making her adaptable to various playstyles.

Hakumen embodies the tank archetype, with slow but powerful attacks and the ability to withstand enemy onslaughts. Blocking attacks allows him to counter with reduced MP costs, and he can be equipped with a midair attack to tackle any enemy type.

Lambda-11 excels in both close and long-range combat, making her a versatile fighter. Her skills can cause continuous damage even when not directly engaging enemies, making her suitable for any combat scenario.

Kokonoe may be considered weaker due to her reliance on managing lasers and crowd control effects. However, with the right damage-over-time build, she can be highly effective.

Hibiki is a master of evasion and crowd control, perfect for keeping enemies at bay. Although not the most powerful, his ability to avoid damage makes him a formidable choice.

Es is exceptionally strong even without unlocking potentials. She can counter after dodging, perform mid-air combos, and control crowds, making her versatile and powerful.

Mai presents a high skill ceiling, challenging to master but rewarding once her combos are understood. Her Heavy Attack, while prominent, is part of a broader strategy to maximize damage and mobility.

Rachel is overwhelmingly powerful, with fast movements and the ability to reset dodge moves. Her wide-reaching abilities, including one nearly impossible to evade, make her a top-tier choice.

Hazama demands strategic play due to his complex moves. While initially challenging, mastering his skills positions him as one of the game's strongest characters.
