The return of the classic Call of Duty Prestige system in Black Ops 6 has made XP grinding more popular than ever. Players familiar with recent titles like Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone may have a head start. This guide explains how to utilize Legacy XP Tokens in Black Ops 6.
Understanding Legacy XP Tokens in Black Ops 6
Following the Season 01 update, many Black Ops 6 and Warzone players discovered a surplus of previously unseen XP tokens. These were readily used to boost XP, Weapon XP, and Battle Pass progression. However, a subsequent November 15th update addressed "an issue that incorrectly allowed legacy XP tokens to be activated in the Black Ops 6 UI," according to the Call of Duty Blog.
These Legacy XP Tokens are unused tokens carried over from previous COD HQ app-compatible games such as Modern Warfare II, Modern Warfare III, or Warzone. Various methods in these games, including DMZ Missions, Battle Pass Tiers, and brand promotions, awarded these tokens. Any tokens earned remain usable in Warzone. Here's how to leverage them in Black Ops 6.
Utilizing Warzone XP Tokens in Black Ops 6
Initially, players could activate their Warzone Legacy XP tokens directly within Black Ops 6. This functionality was temporarily removed. However, a workaround existed to utilize these tokens to accelerate XP, Weapon XP, and Battle Pass progression.
The workaround involved activating Legacy XP Tokens in Warzone. Upon returning to Black Ops 6, the token and its timer would appear. While requiring menu switching and real-time token countdown, this method provided a significant XP boost.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone are currently available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
