In *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, the dialogue choices you make, particularly during the pivotal moment of Markvart von Aulitz's death, significantly influence the tone of the game and define Henry's character, even if they don't change the overall storyline. Below are the recommended dialogue choices for this crucial scene.
As you approach the end of *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, Henry confronts Markvart von Aulitz with the intent to end his life. Before the act, a conversation unfolds, offering you several dialogue options. Here's how to navigate this conversation effectively:
| Prompt | Answer |
|---|---|
| I don’t want to sit here all night, dying slowly like a stuck pig. | Are you afraid? |
| At a time like this, you do not feel fear. | Hell awaits you. |
| He will take care of them… He owes it to me. | Sigismund will never be king. |
| He had her torn apart by dogs. | Wenceslas did nothing of the sort. |
| While traitors like Jobst profit. | What have you got against Jobst? |
| Mark my words. | Where’s von Bergow? |
| You would like to pay him a night-time visit as well? | That’s none of your business. |
| Let me depart with dignity. | Give von Aulitz a dignified death. |
The crucial choice is the final one. You're presented with three options:
Opting for a dignified death is the most impactful choice. This allows Henry to help Markvart stand before delivering the fatal blow, reflecting a moment of respect and humanity amidst the brutality of war. The second option results in a cold-hearted execution while Markvart remains seated, which lacks the thematic depth the scene aims to convey.
Choosing to let von Aulitz live leads Henry to walk away, leaving Markvart to bleed out. Before departing, von Aulitz requests another cup of wine, which Henry provides. This choice results in a somber and reflective end, with von Aulitz drinking as he meets his fate.
These are the optimal dialogue choices for handling Markvart von Aulitz's death in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*. For further insights and tips on the game, including romance options and the best initial perks to select, be sure to visit The Escapist.
