Tides Of Annihilation Trailer Showcases Fast-Paced Combat
A Sneak Peek Into An Apocalyptic London
First unveiled at the recent PlayStation State of Play, Tides of Annihilation has sparked significant interest with its newly released extended gameplay trailer. The footage showcases early development gameplay, featuring protagonist Gwendolyn and her sword-transforming companion, Niniane, navigating the ruins of a devastated, otherworldly London, ravaged by an Outworld invasion. As they journey through crumbling streets, they encounter numerous adversaries, but Gwendolyn's unique ability to summon a band of over ten legendary knights inspired by King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table helps them forge ahead.

After overcoming these foes and exploring further through a magical portal, the duo faces a thrilling boss fight against Mordred, a character with opposing goals to Gwendolyn's. This confrontation highlights the game’s dynamic, action-packed combat, underscored by a haunting choir singing in the background, culminating in a gripping finale.
According to the game's producer, Kun Fu, on the PlayStation.Blog, the battle system is designed to offer "intuitive co-op combat in a single-player experience." Players can summon two spectral knights with distinct combat roles at any time, requiring strategic choices based on the current situation. "The interplay between Gwendolyn and the knights creates a dynamic, fast-paced, and deeply engaging combat experience. It’s a system that our team (veterans from top game studios) fell in love with during internal playtests," Fu explained.
A Nod To Devil May Cry And Bayonetta

The trailer has received widespread acclaim from viewers, who have praised its art direction, style, and fluid, fast-paced hack-and-slash combat. Fans have drawn comparisons to iconic titles like Devil May Cry and Bayonetta, as well as modern hits like Elden Ring, NieR: Automata, Stellar Blade, and Final Fantasy 16. The excitement is palpable, with many netizens expressing their eagerness to purchase Tides of Annihilation on its launch day, citing its "immense potential."
Tides of Annihilation is the debut title from Chengdu-based game studio Eclipse Glow Games, blending Arthurian legend with an alternate modern-day London. Players will step into the shoes of heroine Gwendolyn, a survivor of an apocalyptic event. While a specific release date has yet to be announced, the game is set to launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
