Rocksteady Studios, the creator of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, announced further job cuts at the close of 2024, impacting programmers, artists, and testers. This follows September's layoffs, which halved the testing team's size.
These reductions are a direct consequence of the game's poor reception and substantial financial losses – approximately $200 million, according to Warner Bros. No further updates are planned for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League in 2025, though servers will remain active.
The job losses weren't limited to Rocksteady; Games Montreal, another Warner Bros. studio, also experienced significant layoffs (99 employees) in December.
The game's early access launch exacerbated the situation. Players encountered numerous bugs, including server outages and a major plot spoiler. Negative reviews from prominent gaming publications and a massive 791% surge in refund requests (per McLuck analytics) further compounded the problems.
Rocksteady's future projects remain undisclosed.
