Star Wars: Hunters has announced its shutdown even before reaching its first anniversary. However, the game will still celebrate its one-year milestone before officially closing down. The question remains: Is it worth celebrating the anniversary of a game on its way out?
When Is the Star Wars: Hunters Shutdown?
The servers for Star Wars: Hunters are scheduled to shut down on October 1st, 2025, marking the end of the game just nine months after its launch. Players have a few extra weeks to wrap up Season 5, which concludes on April 15th.
Zynga, the game's developer and publisher, is rolling out a final content update on April 15th, introducing the last new Support Hunter, Tuya, for free. On the same day, in-game purchases will be disabled.
Ranked Mode will remain active until the servers go offline, and events from the season will be rerun. Players should use any unspent Crystals as there will be no refunds offered.
It Isn’t Shocking
While it's unfortunate, the shutdown of Star Wars: Hunters doesn't come as a surprise. The game faced multiple delays since its announcement in 2020, with beta tests limited to the SEA and ANZAC regions.
A combination of a delayed launch, the absence of major console support, and a tepid reception contributed to the game's demise. Even the design choices seem to have missed the mark; instead of leveraging iconic Star Wars characters, the game opted for generic originals.
If you've uninstalled the game but are considering a final playthrough, Star Wars: Hunters remains available for download on the Google Play Store until the shutdown.
