As you embark on your adventure with Khazan, you'll encounter various elements that demand your attention. While enemies lying in ambush are a significant threat, the environment also holds treasures and challenges. Among these, you'll find the red, glowing Soulstones scattered throughout the levels. These stones are not just decorative; they are crucial to your progress.
To collect Soulstones, you'll need to engage in some platforming and keep your eyes peeled. Once you spot them, you must destroy them using either melee attacks or your Javelin's ranged capabilities. As you progress and unlock The Crevice hub zone, you'll gain access to portals that lead to both past and new levels, allowing you to track the number of Soulstones available in each area.
How To Use Soulstones in The First Berserker: Khazan
Each Soulstone you destroy contributes to a total count that you can use through the NPC Daphrona. You'll first meet Daphrona in the Embars Ruins – Forgotten Temple level, where she'll explain the Netherworld and its leaking energy. After clearing the level, Daphrona will relocate to The Crevice, becoming accessible in the Nether realm.
When you speak to Daphrona, you'll have the option to "Unleash Soulstones." The number of Soulstones you've collected determines the enhancements you can apply to Khazan. Typically, you can choose to increase your Lacrima Gain, which aids in leveling up and boosting stats, or enhance the amount of health you recover when using Netherworld Energy.
Additionally, there might be other valuable buffs available, such as attack or recovery enhancements, designed to give you an edge in facing the perils of Khazan's journey. It's wise to return to Daphrona frequently after destroying Soulstones to see if you've accumulated enough for another beneficial upgrade.
