The Pokémon Trading Card Game (PTCGO) Space Time Smackdown expansion, released January 30th, features a Weavile ex card depicting a scene that has sparked outrage among players. Specifically, the 2-Star full art card shows a group of Weavile poised to attack an unsuspecting Swinub.

This depiction of potential predation has garnered significant negative attention online. Reddit posts highlighting the artwork have accumulated thousands of upvotes, with users expressing concern and dismay at the graphic nature of the card. Comments range from pleas for the Swinub's safety ("Leave the lil guy alone!") to observations on the often-violent implications of the Pokémon world's ecology.

However, some fans offer a hopeful interpretation, pointing to the Mamoswine full art card. This card depicts a Mamoswine, Swinub's evolution, protectively looking upward, suggesting it may have witnessed and thwarted the Weavile's attack. This interpretation provides a measure of comfort to those upset by the Weavile card's imagery.

The Space Time Smackdown expansion, themed around Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, includes 207 cards, featuring Pokémon such as Weavile, Mamoswine, Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina.
