Biggest Games of Summer Gaming Event Ranked

Mar 17,2026 Author: Aaron

All major summer gaming showcases have concluded, giving us a solid idea of the games we'll be playing over the coming year. Throughout IGN's Summer of Gaming, we witnessed numerous thrilling reveals. These ranged from the debut of Resident Evil Requiem at Summer Game Fest (arriving next February!) to the impressive Clockwork Revolution trailer during the Xbox Games Showcase (which launches when it's ready).

With over a dozen presentations in recent weeks, there was something for every type of gamer. Fans of cozy games discovered charming titles in Wholesome Direct, grimdark enthusiasts were thrilled by Warhammer Skulls, and first-party followers feasted on PlayStation's State of Play and the Xbox Games Showcase. Now that everything has been revealed, it's time for the tough task: ranking the biggest announcements.

We've chosen the 25 most significant games of the season based on multiple criteria—including trailer views, page visits, social media buzz, and staff enthusiasm—and entered them into a tier list. You decide where each of these 25 games lands. S rank is for the most exciting titles, D rank is for games that seem less promising, with everything else falling in between.

Many of these 25 games have a strong shot at S rank. Resident Evil Requiem had the most-watched trailer of the season, and our hands-on preview confirms it's one to watch. Then there's Invincible VS, which looks like a fantastic tag-team fighter and a perfect adaptation of the beloved comic series. We also saw the cinematic first trailer for 007 First Light—but will its Bond film style be backed by compelling gameplay?

Other titles are trickier to rank. After years of anticipation, we finally saw Capcom's Pragmata, but does it live up to the hype? What about the Silent Hill remake announcement? We haven't seen any footage, but it's being developed by Bloober Team, who delivered an outstanding remake of Silent Hill 2. Then there's Keeper, a sentient lighthouse simulator and Double Fine's long-awaited new project, though its debut trailer seemed to hold back some details. Where will these games and others ultimately rank? The decision is in your hands.
