Plants vs. Zombies has reached a remarkable milestone—16 years of lawn defense and zombie battles! To celebrate this Sweet 16, the team behind the game is hosting a festive bash straight out of Neighborville. It all started 16 years ago when the first peashooter fired its shot, marking the beginning of the epic backyard showdown.
In honor of this special occasion, EA is rolling out some fantastic discounts. Head over to the PvZ shop where Dave’s Secret Stash is slashing prices by up to 33% on various packs. Plus, you can snag up to 20% off on Mini Games, making it a perfect time for both pea planters and brain munchers to dive back into the action.
The developers are also sharing heartwarming behind-the-scenes stories from the creators and dedicated fans who've been defending their lawns since day one. These tales highlight the game's quirky characters and the endless plant puns that have kept players laughing for years.
But the highlight of the Plants vs. Zombies Sweet 16 celebration is undoubtedly the official celebration video. This tribute to the community showcases zombies disco-dancing and teleporting, capturing the fun and spirit of the game that has entertained players for over a decade. Why not take a moment to enjoy the festivities?
Back in 2009, PopCap Games introduced Plants vs. Zombies to the world on desktop platforms. Its unique blend of humor, strategy, and charm—with sunflowers beaming and zombies in traffic cones shuffling across the lawn—quickly captivated players. The game made the leap to mobile devices in 2010, and by 2012, EA had acquired PopCap. In 2013, the sequel, Plants vs. Zombies 2: It’s About Time, launched with new worlds and zany mechanics, further expanding the universe.
Currently, Plants vs. Zombies 3: Welcome to Zomburbia has been in development since 2020. After a soft launch and subsequent rework, the team is working on a fresh art style and aiming to recapture the classic tower defense feel that fans love.
If you haven't played in a while, now's the perfect time to jump back into the action on the Google Play Store. And while you're at it, don't miss our latest news on Honkai's upcoming game, Honkai: Nexus Anima.
