Fumi Games and PlaySide Studio unveil new details for their upcoming title, MOUSE: P.I. For Hire. This first-person shooter, boasting a striking visual style reminiscent of 1930s cartoons, places players in the shoes of private investigator Jack Pepper.
The game plunges players into a world brimming with jazz, intrigue, and explosive action as they unravel a series of mysterious cases. A key announcement, made via the game's official X account, confirms the absence of microtransactions: "MOUSE: P.I. For Hire will NOT contain microtransactions. We are creating a stunning single player shooter full of noir atmosphere and explosive combat scenes that we put our hearts into creating." This commitment to a microtransaction-free experience is noteworthy, particularly within the indie single-player shooter landscape.
MOUSE: P.I. For Hire's distinctive aesthetic, drawing inspiration from the rubber hose animation style popular in 1930s cartoons, creates a unique and nostalgic atmosphere. Players will navigate a noir-infused city teeming with mobsters, gangs, and other nefarious characters, utilizing an arsenal of weapons, power-ups, and explosives to thwart corrupt politicians and restore order to the chaotic metropolis. The gameplay incorporates a humorous twist on classic FPS mechanics, featuring whimsical weaponry, a distinctive health display, and cartoonishly rendered enemies.
While a precise release date remains unannounced, MOUSE: P.I. For Hire is slated for a 2025 launch.
