"Mastering the Haunted Mirror in Phasmophobia: A Guide"

Apr 19,2025 Author: Emily

In the eerie world of *Phasmophobia*, tackling the most elusive ghosts often requires using special Cursed Possessions, each carrying its own risks and rewards. One such item, the Haunted Mirror, stands out as particularly useful. If you're hesitant about using it, let's dive into how it works and why it might be worth the risk.

How to Use Haunted Mirror in Phasmophobia

Haunted Mirror in Phasmophobia

The Haunted Mirror is considered one of the safest Cursed Objects in *Phasmophobia*, offering significant benefits with relatively low risk. Its functionality has remained consistent through numerous game updates, making it a reliable tool during your investigations. If you encounter it, using the Haunted Mirror is highly recommended.

The mirror's primary ability is to reveal the ghost's current favorite room or area on the map by providing a panoramic view of that space. This feature is invaluable for quickly locating the ghost, especially if you're familiar with the map's layout. By pinpointing the ghost's location early, you can set up your equipment before the situation escalates.

You'll typically find the Haunted Mirror hanging on a wall, such as at 6 Tanglewood Drive, or lying on the floor in its designated spot. While Cursed Objects always appear in the same location on each map, the type of object that spawns is randomized.

To utilize the Haunted Mirror, pick it up and use the appropriate button (mouse or controller) to hold it up. The reflection will show you the ghost's current favorite room. Be mindful that on Professional difficulty or higher, the ghost might move to a different area after some time.

However, be cautious not to gaze into the mirror for too long, as it drains your sanity. If you hold it up until it shatters, a Cursed Hunt will initiate at your location. Therefore, use it when your sanity is high and quickly understand the reflection to avoid triggering a hunt.

Cursed Possessions, commonly referred to as "Cursed Objects," are unique items in *Phasmophobia* that randomly appear on any map, depending on difficulty settings or if you're playing Challenge Mode. Unlike standard equipment, which helps locate ghosts and gather evidence with minimal risk, Cursed Objects act as shortcuts to manipulate ghost behavior, albeit with significantly higher risks to your character.

The safety of using these objects varies based on their specific abilities. It's up to you and your team to decide whether to employ them, as there's no penalty for choosing not to. Typically, only one Cursed Possession will spawn per contract, unless you modify settings in Custom mode.

There are seven different Cursed Objects in the game:

  • Summoning Circle
  • Haunted Mirror
  • Voodoo Doll
  • Music Box
  • Tarot Cards
  • Ouija Board
  • Monkey Paw

This guide covers the use of the Haunted Mirror in *Phasmophobia*. For more insights and updates on *Phasmophobia*, including the 2025 Roadmap & Preview, visit The Escapist.
