Solo developer Jo Drolet has unveiled an exciting new single-player roguelite titled Lhea and the Word Spirit, set to launch in August. In this game, players will embark on a mystical journey to guide lost souls through the enigmatic realms of the In-Between, a mysterious space between life and death. Assisted by an ancient Word Spirit, players will navigate these minimalist yet captivating worlds.
A key feature of Lhea and the Word Spirit is its innovative "timeline battle system," which allows players to manipulate the flow of battles to their advantage. This unique mechanic is complemented by a collection of enchanted rings that players can equip and upgrade. These rings not only enhance gameplay with various spells but also unlock hidden secrets, revealing deeper truths about the In-Between.
As a roguelite, each playthrough offers a fresh experience with procedurally generated realms, requiring players to adapt and employ different strategies with every run. This dynamic environment ensures that no two adventures are ever the same.

Jo Drolet shares her vision for the game, saying, “I wanted to create this charming minimalistic world about life and death with the hope that players lose track of time and feel enspirited by this dance between unexpected discoveries, strategy flow, and heartwarming music.”
While the full release is slated for August, eager fans can get a taste of the game earlier with a demo available during Steam Next Fest, running from June 9th to June 16th.
