If you're a fan of Japanese music, you're no stranger to HYDE, the iconic artist who has graced stages like Madison Square Garden and sold over 40 million records. Today marks the global launch of "Hyde Run," a new endless runner game featuring HYDE as the main character. Originally launched in Japan, this game now offers global fans a unique way to celebrate HYDE's illustrious career through gameplay filled with references to his music and life.
Move, Jump, or Slide in Hyde Run
In "Hyde Run," you'll experience parkour like never before, navigating through a dynamic concert stage and a futuristic Tokyo simultaneously. As HYDE, you'll engage in a high-speed chase across Neo Tokyo, dodging obstacles, wall-running past vibrant billboards, and collecting musical notes that resonate with his career.
The game's atmosphere diverges from typical endless runners with its neon-and-noise aesthetic, infused with the energy of a guitar solo and tailored fan service. While dashing through the city, you can grab various power-ups such as magnets that attract notes or barriers that protect you from damage.
Before each run, you can choose items to enhance your gameplay. Use a Note Gain to increase your note collection or opt for a Barrier to avoid tripping over obstacles. Collecting crystals throughout the game unlocks exclusive HYDE outfits and room items, reflecting his career's highlights. Unlocking the Microphone Stand grants access to voice clips from HYDE himself.
There’s More Stuff in the Game to Do
"Hyde Run" also allows you to customize HYDE's room with memorabilia spanning 20 years of his career, from tour gear to obscure nods. Hidden items unlock additional messages and voice notes from HYDE, adding a personal touch to your gaming experience.
Currently, there's limited-time content available until June 10th, 2025. The THE LAST ROCKSTARS Costume Set dresses HYDE in an iconic look from a music video, complete with matching ROCK Furniture like leopard prints, vintage trunks, and stage spotlights. For a more relaxed vibe, the Bat Jinbei Costume Set offers a summer-festival-inspired outfit, and you can complement it with traditional Japanese-style furniture featuring bamboo, bonboris, and a wind chime in the shape of HYDE's Edyh character.
