Elden Ring Nightreign: No Poison Swamps, Potential for Two-Player Mode
From Software's upcoming cooperative title, Elden Ring Nightreign, will notably omit the poisonous swamps frequently featured in their games. This revelation comes directly from Yasuhiro Kitao, the project's product manager, during a recent press interview.
While a swamp-like area was shown in the Elden Ring Nightreign trailer, Kitao clarified it's a distinct location. The absence of the traditional poisonous swamps is attributed to the lack of involvement from Hidetaka Miyazaki, From Software's president, a known enthusiast of swamp environments in games like Elden Ring and the Dark Souls series. Miyazaki did not participate in Nightreign's development.

Interestingly, a two-player mode, currently absent from the confirmed one-player and three-player options, is under consideration. Initial exclusion was reportedly due to content balancing difficulties. From Software is actively evaluating the feasibility of adding this mode before the game's launch.
Elden Ring Nightreign is slated for release on May 30, 2025, for PC and current and next-generation consoles.
