Delta Force, previously known as Delta Force: Hawk Ops, is now accepting pre-registrations for its mobile launch on iOS and Android. This revival of the classic franchise, spearheaded by Tencent's Level Infinite, blends diverse missions and modes with a tactical gameplay approach. The game is slated for release in late January 2025.
While the Delta Force name may not resonate with all gamers, its significance in the FPS genre predates even Call of Duty. The series, inspired by the US military's elite Delta Force unit, has always emphasized realistic weaponry and gadgetry within its action-packed gameplay.
Level Infinite's reboot promises a compelling experience. "Warfare" mode delivers large-scale battles reminiscent of Battlefield, while "Operations" delves into the extraction shooter genre. A single-player campaign, drawing inspiration from the Battle of Mogadishu and the film "Black Hawk Down," is also planned for 2025.

Addressing Cheating Concerns
Despite high anticipation, Delta Force has faced controversy, primarily concerning cheating. Tencent's aggressive anti-cheat measures, implemented via G.T.I. Security, have drawn criticism for their perceived overreach. While the impact on the mobile version remains to be seen, the PC release's stringent anti-cheat approach has already alienated some potential players. However, the mobile platform's inherent limitations in facilitating cheating could mitigate this concern.
