Attack the Tentacles
Facing off against Nu Udra in *Monster Hunter Wilds* is no small feat. With its massive tentacles, this monster boasts a wide reach that makes dodging its attacks a challenging task. However, these tentacles are the most accessible limbs for melee weapon users. Severing them not only provides extra materials but also reduces the monster's reach. Be cautious, though, as these limbs are also potent weapons in Nu Udra's arsenal.
Aim for the Mouth
For those wielding ranged weapons, targeting options are more varied. The most effective spot to hit is the mouth, which, despite being hard to spot due to Nu Udra's nearly pitch-black skin, has a 4-star weakness. The head is another viable target, with a 3-star weakness to ammo damage, making it an excellent choice for blunt and cut damage as well.
Use Watermoss
Given Nu Udra's affinity for fire in *Monster Hunter Wilds*, it's crucial to come prepared. Besides its limb attacks, the monster can unleash devastating fire attacks, including setting itself ablaze, which inflicts the Fireblight debuff. To mitigate this, using Watermoss is highly recommended. By shooting Watermoss at Nu Udra, you can safely continue your assault without succumbing to the status ailment.
Wear Fire Resistant Gear
If you find yourself struggling in this battle, equipping gear with fire resistance is a smart move. The Quematrice armor set, with its Fire Resistance skill, is an excellent choice. Additionally, consider using decorations like the Fire Res Jewel to reduce fire damage or the Stream Jewel to boost your water attack capabilities, enhancing your effectiveness against Nu Udra.
Beware of Grab Attacks
Nu Udra's arsenal includes a particularly dangerous move: the grab attack. If you're too close, the monster might ensnare you with its tentacles, followed by a fiery blast to your face. During the brief pause before the fire attack, you have a chance to break free with a knife or target its weak spot using a Slinger.

Capturing Nu Udra in *Monster Hunter Wilds* requires strategic preparation. You'll need either a Pitfall or Shock Trap, but you can't set it immediately. First, weaken the monster by attacking it until it's on the brink of death, indicated by a skull icon next to its boss icon. Once it's sufficiently weakened, place your trap. You can use meat as bait or simply lure Nu Udra into the trap while it's chasing you. Once trapped, quickly use a Tranquilizer to put it to sleep—you have only about five seconds before it breaks free.
That's all you need to know about defeating and capturing Nu Udra in *Monster Hunter Wilds*. Given the challenge of facing this monster alone, don't hesitate to team up in multiplayer to increase your chances of success.
