How to Respec Your Character in Avowed (& When You Want To)

Starting a new game can be daunting, especially when you're unsure about which character build will suit your playstyle. That's where the ability to respec comes into play. In *Avowed*, if you find yourself struggling or simply not enjoying your current setup, it's wise to consider respeccing. For instance, I initially tried going full wizard but quickly realized it wasn't working for me. Switching to a spellsword drastically improved my gameplay. As you progress in *Avowed*, you might want to respec again to optimize your character for tougher battles and achieve your dream build.

How to Respec Your Abilities in Avowed

To respec your abilities in *Avowed*, simply open the menu and head to the “Abilities” section. Scroll to the bottom where you'll find the “Reset Points” option. The initial cost is 100 Copper Skeyt, though it will increase as you continue playing. Click the button, confirm your choice, and pay the displayed amount. This will reset all your ability points across the skill trees, except for the “Godlike” abilities, which are locked and can only be gained through specific in-game decisions.

How to Respec Your Attributes in Avowed

If you're content with your abilities but want to tweak your attributes, or perhaps overhaul your entire character, you can do so by navigating to the “Character” section in the menu. At the bottom, below the list of attributes, you'll find a respec button along with its associated cost, which starts at 100 Copper Skeyt and increases over time. Click the button, pay the cost, and enjoy the freedom of reassigning your attribute points.

How to Respec Your Companion in Avowed

Respeccing your companion in *Avowed* is just as straightforward. Open the menu, go to the “Abilities” section, and then switch to the “Companions” tab. Below your companion's name, you'll see an icon and a button. Click it, confirm your decision, and pay the required amount of Copper Skeyt to regain all the points allocated to that companion. Remember, you'll need to respec each companion individually.

And there you have it—a comprehensive guide on how to respec in *Avowed*. Whether you're looking to fine-tune your character or completely overhaul your approach, these steps will help you get back on track and enjoy the game to its fullest.

*Avowed is available now.*
