Just one month after its release and Game Pass debut, Obsidian and Xbox Game Studios released a new trailer celebrating Avowed. The video highlights the overwhelmingly positive critical reception of this action-RPG, showcasing select reviews and quotes from gaming journalists.
This latest update introduces DLSS 4 support, including Multi-Frame Generation, Super Resolution, and DLAA. These advancements significantly boost performance; NVIDIA showcased a potential three-fold increase in frame rates at maximum 4K settings, reaching up to 340 FPS. Further announcements regarding future support and a roadmap for Avowed are promised in the coming weeks.
Beyond the impressive technical upgrades, this update enhances gameplay. Players now earn an extra talent point every five levels, with retroactive awards for existing players upon game load. Keyboard and mouse users gain the ability to toggle between walking and running, and a new accessibility feature allows for increased font sizes in in-game text, documents, and guides.
While Avowed didn't achieve universal, perfect scores, it garnered overwhelmingly strong reviews. Digital Foundry, for example, lauded the game as a technical "triumph," solidifying its position as a remarkable achievement from Obsidian.
