Astro Bot took center stage at the BAFTA Games Awards, securing the Best Game trophy and collecting five awards in total. Hosted by comedian Phil Wang, the event celebrated the past year's most outstanding games.

After Astro Bot’s 2024 Game of the Year win, Team Asobi studio head Nicolas Doucet made notable remarks during a Game Developers Conference panel. Discussing the title’s development, Doucet highlighted the importance of crafting focused, completable experiences in an industry often dominated by massive projects.
“We always believed it's fine to create a compact game,” said Doucet. He explained that a narrower scope helped the studio preserve creative oversight while giving players a realistic chance to finish—a compelling benefit in an age of overwhelming backlogs.

March 6
Astro Bot’s newest update adds a level called Hard to Bear, which includes a nod to The Order: 1886. This stage forms part of the ongoing Vicious Void Galaxy DLC, featuring five free weekly levels released across February and March. The last level is due in mid-March.

Team Asobi has revealed five additional Astro Bot levels, starting today with the Vicious Void Galaxy. Each Thursday until March 13, players will receive one free update with progressively tougher stages, a unique Special Bot to find, and Time Attack mode with online leaderboards.

Team ASOBI confirmed a festive free update for Astro Bot, Winter Wonder, launching December 12 at 8 PM PT. The add-on includes a holiday-themed stage as a gesture of gratitude to fans after the game’s warm reception since its PS5 release earlier in the year.

Team ASOBI, the studio behind Astro Bot, was named Studio of the Year at the 2024 Golden Joystick Awards. The win follows the platformer’s critical success, having earned four nominations after its September launch.
