Midjiwan has released a significant update for The Battle of Polytopia, completely revamping the Aquarion Tribe. This update overhauls the original special tribe, first introduced in 2017.
Aquarion's Aquatic Transformation
The Aquarion units receive a dramatic makeover. Land units now sport mermaid tails, granting them amphibious capabilities. They move swiftly across water but are slower on land. This update introduces flooded terrain, allowing land and naval units to coexist for the first time.
Buildings are also aquatic, constructible on water. Lost Cities now appear as deep-sea ruins, ideal bases for water-based warfare. A new structure, the Atoll, connects water cities, eliminating the need for roads. Aqua Crops return, permanently integrated into the Aquarion arsenal, functioning similarly to land-based crops.
New aquatic creatures join the fray. Sharks ambush, puffers provide long-range bombardment, and jellies deliver electric shocks. Returning favorites, the Tridentions and Crabs, are also enhanced; Crabs now flood tiles they traverse, synergizing with the mermaid units.
