This isn't an April Fools' Day prank, despite the timing of the announcement on March 31, 2025. As April Fools' Day approaches, fans are naturally skeptical, expecting a flood of fake game announcements, but Pocketpair assures everyone that this dating sim is genuinely on its way.

Pocketpair is keen to clarify for skeptics: Palworld! More Than Just Pals is a real video game. Inspired by their 2024 April Fools' Day stunt, which initially presented the game as a jest, it has now transformed into a legitimate project set to launch on PC via Steam at a yet-to-be-announced date.

This dating sim promises a unique twist to Pocketpair's universe, allowing players to enroll as a transfer student at Palagos Private Academy. Here, they can befriend and potentially fall in love with a variety of student Pals, such as the "cute" and "mysterious" Katress and the "timid" Chillet, characters directly inspired by Palworld's creature roster. The game's narrative offers players the freedom to choose whether to maintain friendships, pursue romance, or take a darker path by dismembering and consuming their Pals.

As Palworld marked its one-year anniversary in January, it continues to evolve with regular updates.
