KonoSuba Goes Offline: Fate of Global Version Uncertain

KonoSuba: Fantastic Days Global Servers Shut Down After 3.5-Year Run

Another gacha game bites the dust. KonoSuba: Fantastic Days Global, developed by Sumzap and published by Nexon (later Sesisoft), officially ended its service on January 30th. While a relatively short lifespan compared to its Japanese counterpart (which ran for 5 years), its 3.5-year run is respectable for an anime-based gacha title, especially considering declining revenue in recent times.

The developers, having shifted their focus to the Jujutsu Kaisen Phantom Parade gacha game, still provided substantial support until the very end. This included new voiced story updates and a final song release just three weeks prior to the shutdown. A farewell livestream in December, featuring Kazuma's voice actor, further showcased their dedication.

The Japanese version offered players a unique parting gift: an archive of the entire main story on their YouTube channel, allowing fans to revisit the comedic misadventures of Kazuma and his companions. An offline version also grants access to the story, voice lines, and character collection.

Unfortunately, the Global version lacks both an offline mode and a dedicated YouTube archive. However, fans can still access the Japanese YouTube channel to relive the KonoSuba experience.

This concludes our coverage of the KonoSuba: Fantastic Days Global shutdown. Stay tuned for our next article covering the February Community Day in Pokémon Go, featuring Karrablast and Shelmet.
