Rust Unveils Major Update with Improved Cooking and Farming

Rust, the renowned multiplayer survival game, has just released a significant update known as The Crafting Update, designed to enrich players' creative experiences with a variety of new features. One of the standout additions is the culinary workbench, allowing survivors to cook gourmet dishes such as grilled chicken legs, which can be enjoyed with a shot of Siberian vodka. Cooking requires specific recipes, and preparing well-cooked meals grants stat boosts and gameplay-enhancing modifiers.

The update also introduces chicken coops, where players can raise chickens and chicks. Each chick has four essential needs: Hunger, Thirst, Love, and Sunlight. Proper care is crucial; neglecting these needs will lead to the birds' demise. Chicken meat, once obtained, is perishable and must be stored in a refrigerator to prevent spoilage. Timers on food items now show their expiration dates, helping players manage their resources efficiently.

For those with a sweet tooth, wild beehives can now be discovered on trees. Extracting honeycombs requires careful handling and relocating them to player-crafted hives made from wooden boxes. Dealing with bees is challenging; players can wear protective suits, use water, or resort to flamethrowers to avoid stings. A new weapon, the Bee Grenade, looks like a jar of honey but releases three swarms of aggressive bees upon shattering, causing chaos and forcing players to scatter.

The engineering workbench has undergone a complete overhaul, now including a dedicated tech tree for plumbing and electricity. This enables players to construct automated systems and even entire factories, enhancing the game's depth and complexity. Additionally, the developers have introduced premium servers, exclusive to players with a Rust inventory worth at least $15. This initiative aims to create a more enjoyable and fair environment by filtering out cheaters and disruptive players.
