At the 3rd day of Anime Expo in Los Angeles, RGG Studio hosted "Essence of Fandom: Like a Dragon & Yakuza Experience." The event, moderated by Linda “VampyBitMe” Le, featured Like a Dragon Chief Producer Hiroyuki Sakamoto and Ichiban Kasuga's voice actor, Kazuhiro Nakaya.
During the event, attendees were given a tantalizing hint about the studio's upcoming project: "We can’t tell you what kind of game it is, but I will tell you, you’ll be surprised." This was reported by @TheYakuzaGuy on Twitter, who also confirmed it's a new addition to the Like a Dragon franchise.
The shift to a full-fledged JRPG in Like a Dragon 7 was already unexpected, so the nature of this "surprising" new entry remains a mystery.
