Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP Reaches Impressive Sales Milestone

Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP's Resurgence: Over 200,000 Copies Sold!

Released late last year, the Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP remaster has exceeded 200,000 units sold, demonstrating strong player interest in this classic action title. Despite initial technical hurdles and controversy surrounding censorship, the game's sales figures clearly indicate a significant market demand.

Developed originally by Grasshopper Manufacture (known for the No More Heroes series), Lollipop Chainsaw is a vibrant hack-and-slash game starring a chainsaw-wielding cheerleader battling zombies. While the original developers didn't handle the remaster, Dragami Games delivered a visually enhanced version with improved gameplay features.

Months after its September 2024 launch, Dragami Games announced the impressive sales milestone of over 200,000 copies across all platforms (current and last-gen consoles, plus PC).

Celebrating Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP's Sales Triumph

Players control Juliet Starling, a San Romero High cheerleader who uncovers her zombie-hunting heritage when her school is invaded by the undead. Juliet's signature weapon, a chainsaw, fuels fast-paced combat reminiscent of Bayonetta and other iconic third-person action games.

The original 2012 release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 achieved even greater success, reportedly selling over one million copies. The game's unique appeal stems partly from the collaboration between renowned game designer Goichi Suda and James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy), who contributed to the game's compelling narrative.

While future DLC or a sequel remains unannounced, Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP's success bodes well for remasters of other cult-classic games. This positive trend is further highlighted by the recent release of Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered, bringing another Grasshopper Manufacture title to modern gaming platforms.
