Leslie Benzies, the renowned former lead game designer behind iconic titles like Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption, is gearing up to launch his latest project, MindsEye. The game recently showcased its stunning visuals and gameplay at the PlayStation State of Play, offering fans a glimpse into this thrilling high-tech spy adventure.
The newly released trailer for MindsEye reveals a game that echoes the cinematic quality and third-person action of Grand Theft Auto. It features intense gunplay, high-end cinematics, and dynamic drive-and-shoot sequences, all of which you can experience in the cinematic trailer below.
According to the official press release, MindsEye centers on the protagonist Jacob Diaz, who is equipped with a neural implant known as the MindsEye. This implant, however, has disrupted his memory, leaving him with fragmented flashbacks of his military past. Driven by a quest to uncover the truth about his history, Jacob embarks on a mission that pits him against an AI-powered military force determined to thwart his efforts.
MindsEye has been in development for several years since Benzies left Rockstar Games to establish his new studio, Build a Rocket Boy. In collaboration with Hitman developer IO Interactive, MindsEye is set to be a AAA action-adventure game. Alongside the game, Benzies is also launching the Everywhere platform, which we've previously described as a "Big budget Roblox" following a visit to their studio in 2024.
While the new trailer did not delve into details about Everywhere, MindsEye itself promises to be an exhilarating new entry in the action genre, crafted by one of its most celebrated figures. The game is slated for release in the summer of 2025.
