Destiny 2 Reveals Horror Themed Armor Sets for Festival of the Lost 2025

Summary

  • Destiny 2 players can vote on new Festival of the Lost armor sets inspired by horror icons like Jason, Slenderman, and more.
  • The 2025 Festival of the Lost pits "Slashers" against "Spectres," with Titan armor inspired by Babadook and Hunter armor by La Llorona.
  • Despite the exciting new armor, the Destiny 2 community expresses frustration over ongoing bugs and declining player numbers.

Bungie has unveiled the new armor sets for Destiny 2's Festival of the Lost, allowing players to vote for either "Slashers" or "Spectres" themed sets featuring iconic horror characters. This arrives as Destiny 2 concludes Episode Revenant, offering players a narrative conclusion and new loot like Slayer's Fang.

Episode Revenant, however, has been plagued by numerous frustrating bugs and issues. A core mechanic involving brewing tonics for buffs proved problematic, with some tonics failing to function correctly. While Bungie addressed many of these issues, player sentiment remains low due to the persistent problems.

In a surprising announcement, Bungie revealed the upcoming Festival of the Lost armor sets in their first 2025 blog post. This year's theme, "Slashers vs. Spectres," draws inspiration from various horror icons and urban legends. Players can vote for their preferred designs, which will be released in October. Bungie also confirmed the return of the 2024 Festival of the Lost's Wizard armor during Episode Heresy.

Destiny 2 Festival of the Lost 2025: Iconic Horror Villains Arrive

The "Slashers" category features Titan and Hunter armor clearly inspired by Jason Voorhees (Friday the 13th) and Ghostface (Scream), respectively, while Warlocks receive a Scarecrow-themed set. The "Spectres" category offers Titans a Babadook-inspired set, Hunters a La Llorona design, and Warlocks a long-awaited Slenderman armor set.

While many players appreciate Bungie's take on horror icons, the early reveal of an event ten months away surprised some. This announcement overshadowed concerns within the community regarding the current state of Destiny 2, including declining player numbers and a surge in bugs and other issues compounding the frustrations of Episode Revenant.
