Zenless Zone Zero 2.2 Debuts Obol Squad

Zenless Zone Zero is swiftly transitioning from its summer refresh to something far grander. Following last month's Version 2.1, HoYoverse is now gearing up for Version 2.2, "Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night," launching next month. This update brings in a new faction, the Obol Squad, which is set to drastically shift the balance of power in New Eridu.

In Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.2, the Defence Force enters the front lines directly. Major General Lorenz oversees operations while Colonel Isolde commands the squad. Their objective extends beyond clearing the last remnants of the Exaltists. As you explore the Waifei Peninsula, the past of agent Seed will be revealed, pulling you further into the struggle.

Seed debuts as a playable S-Rank Electric Attack Agent, a brilliant engineer who fights alongside a customized mech. He brings immense firepower and excellent synergy with other offensive agents.

Joining him are Orphie & Magus, an S-Rank Fire Attack Agent duo that leads the squad with precise laser assaults and team-wide buffs capable of shattering enemy defenses. Backing them up is Mercury, an S-Rank Bangboo tank that bolsters the team's resilience on the battlefield.

Familiar faces like Trigger and Evelyn also return, while Soldier 0 – Anby is preparing for a stronger comeback in a future update. See how they all measure up against the rest of the roster in our Zenless Zone Zero tier list!

Meanwhile, the action begins with the "Band of Brave Bangboo" event, a tower defense-style challenge. Innovative map features like bushes and miasma will test your strategic thinking. Clear these stages to unlock Excaliboo, a new A-Rank Bangboo whose sword-and-hammer antics keep combat fresh and unpredictable.

For a more relaxed experience, the Rhythm Rave event lets you test your timing on classic tracks while earning rewards.
