Unlocking the True Shu Ending in Dynasty Warriors: Origins

To access the true ending for Liu Bei's Shu faction in Dynasty Warriors: Origins, you must first complete the main Shu campaign. This unlocks the ability to replay completed stages. Look for a gold banner next to "The Battle of Changban" – this signifies an alternate scenario.

Normally, this stage involves escorting Liu Bei to safety while Zhang Fei defends the Changban Bridge. However, to unlock the true ending, you must defeat Cao Cao instead of simply ensuring Liu Bei's escape.

1. Reduce Difficulty: Set the game's difficulty to "Historian" mode. This significantly increases your survivability against the overwhelming odds.

2. Strategic Partner: Choose Zhang Fei as your partner. This positions you closer to Cao Cao's forces, minimizing travel time.

3. Musou Meter Management: Ensure your Musou Rage meter is full before engaging Cao Cao's main forces. You'll need to counter two Grand Tactics: one requiring the defeat of two officers, the other the defeat of 250 soldiers. A weapon like twin pikes is recommended for efficiently eliminating large numbers of soldiers.

Once Cao Cao is defeated, several additional missions will lead you to the Shu true ending.
