Akupara Games and Tmesis Studio's latest adventure game, Universe for Sale, is now available. Following on from successful titles like The Darkside Detective series and Zoeti, this new release promises a unique and captivating experience.
Is the Universe Actually for Sale?
The game unfolds on a Jupiter space station, a bizarre marketplace shrouded in acid rain and mystery. Orangutans display surprising intelligence, and cultists engage in unusual bartering. The universe itself is on offer, thanks to Lila, a woman with the extraordinary ability to create universes from her hand.
The game begins in a mining colony's shantytown, where you play as the Master, a skeletal cultist from the Cult of Detachment. Exploring the ramshackle colony, you'll encounter Honin's Tea House, Lila's shop, and begin to unravel her mysteries by shifting perspectives between her and the Master.
Playing as Lila involves a mini-game of universe creation, blending ingredients to produce visually stunning worlds. As the Master, you'll delve into the philosophies of the Cult of Detachment and interact with the Church of Many Gods.
The narrative unfolds gradually, prompting players to theorize about the overarching plot. Each character, be it human, skeletal, or robotic, possesses a unique story, and the richly detailed world encourages thorough exploration.
