Despite the cancellation of the planned live-action Driver TV series, Ubisoft assures fans that other Driver projects are actively under development. Let's delve into the details of Ubisoft's recent announcement.
Ubisoft has officially confirmed to Game File the cancellation of the live-action Driver series. Initially announced in 2021 for exclusive streaming on Binge.com, the project aimed to bring the popular racing game franchise to life. This initiative was part of Ubisoft Film & Television's broader strategy to expand its gaming IPs into new media.
However, the collaboration with Binge ended due to the closure of Hotrod Tanner LLC, a movie-related subsidiary of Ubisoft, in January. An Ubisoft spokesperson confirmed the termination of the partnership with Binge for the Driver series.
The good news for Driver enthusiasts is that Ubisoft has confirmed ongoing work on other Driver projects. While specifics remain undisclosed, Ubisoft promises exciting future announcements related to the franchise. Stay tuned for further updates!
